MILLER’S VANGUARD RAISES £1000 FOR LOCAL CHARITIES WITH BONFIRE PARTY

Bury based, maintenance provider to the UK supermarket industry, Miller’s Vanguard Ltd, raised £1000 for local charities, Bury Hospice and Springhill Hospice, by inviting all of its 160 North West Based employees and their families to a huge charity bonfire held on Friday 12 Nov 2004.

During the event Miller’s Vanguard hosted a huge bonfire, merry go round, bouncy castle and impressive fireworks display, opened with a James Bond style 20ft fire ball visual effect. The company applied for an alcohol licence to enable the event to have its own bar and barbecue, served in a huge heated marquee on the company’s car park, big enough for the 600 strong crowds. All profits from the bar and attractions went to the charities.

Alex Ramsay, Marketing Manager comments: “Here at Miller’s Vanguard, we believe that in a service orientated company like ours, it’s the people who make the business successful. Due to the fact 60% of our workforce are field based and spend lots of time away from home, we saw this event as an opportunity to give something back to the engineer’s families and thank them for the long hours these husbands and fathers spend on the road. We chose to support Bury Hospice and Springhill Hospice as we felt these are very worthwhile local charities”
